Drug and Alcohol Treatment Scholarships for Adolescents, Young Adults, and their Families

Our Mission

To provide financial assistance for treatment, counselor training, and continuing education in and for enthusiastic sobriety approach programs.

Our Philosophy

Enthusiastic Sobriety

The term “enthusiastic sobriety” refers to the specific approach that certain drug and alcohol treatment programs around the United States utilize with young people and adolescents with drug problems.

Family Involvement

Families are affected and broken by drug and alcohol use. Enthusiastic sobriety programs aim to bring the family back together.

Sobriety Through Fun

Young people largely report that they began using drugs as a source of fun and social acceptance. Enthusiastic sobriety recognizes the critical importance of meeting that need after cessation of drug use.

Statistics

Young people ages 12-20 drink 11% of the alcohol consumed in the US. More than 90% of this alcohol is consumed in the form of binge drinks.

In the U.S., teens abuse alcohol more than any illicit drug. Not surprisingly, it causes the most harm — teen drug use and abuse is responsible each year for nearly 200,000 ER visits and 4,300 deaths among kids under 21.

Teenage marijuana use is at its highest level in 30 years.

The average age of heroin addicts in treatment in the US is 23.

Around 15% of eighth-graders, three-in-ten high-school sophomores and four-in-ten seniors report some use of illicit drugs (either illegal or prescription drugs not under a doctor’s orders) in the past 12 months.

Testimonials

“I am very grateful to have received financial help from this wonderful foundation for treatment. This past year has been a struggle for my mental and physical life. I didn’t want to get high or leave the program, I was just very sad and depressed. I didn’t know how to ask for help. It was a very long road to get back into treatment, but today I have 90 days sober. I have friends and I’m finally getting closer to finding my true happiness.”
